Push-up tracking guide
AI Push-Up Counter for Android
Upryte uses on-device pose tracking to follow supported push-ups, count completed and partial repetitions, and add the set to your local workout history.
Camera placement
Use the app’s setup guidance and place your phone on a stable surface with enough distance to show your body from head to feet. A clear side view generally exposes the arm and torso movement needed for camera tracking.
Starting position
Before starting the set, confirm that the floor-level camera view includes the joints used in the movement. Keep the phone fixed and avoid crossing behind furniture or workout equipment.
What Upryte measures
Upryte follows the visible upper- and lower-position movement pattern to count the set. Afterward, it can show completed and partial repetitions and possible patterns that appeared repeatedly in assessable reps.
Common tracking limitations
- A camera placed too high, low, or close may lose part of the movement.
- Hands, shoulders, hips, or feet leaving the frame can interrupt tracking.
- Low contrast between you and the background can reduce camera visibility.
- Movement insights are informational and do not replace a trainer or clinician.
How tracking recovers
If the count stops matching your movement, pause and check framing before continuing. When Upryte cannot assess the captured movement reliably, it presents an unavailable assessment state instead of a confident conclusion.
