Plank tracking guide
Camera Plank Tracker for Android
For a supported plank workout, Upryte uses your Android phone’s camera to follow the visible hold and record the session. Camera processing takes place on the device, and workout history remains local.
Camera placement
Place the phone securely where your full body can remain in view for the entire hold. Follow the in-app setup cues, use steady lighting, and keep the space between you and the camera clear.
Starting position
Confirm your body is visible from head to feet before the timer begins. Because a plank stays near floor level, check that the phone angle does not hide your arms, hips, or legs behind one another.
What Upryte measures
Upryte records the supported exercise session and evaluates visible, repeated movement patterns only when the camera provides enough information. It does not calculate a medical posture score.
Common tracking limitations
- A narrow or obstructed side view can hide relevant landmarks.
- Camera movement during the hold can interrupt consistent tracking.
- Dark clothing against a dark background can make visibility less reliable.
- The app cannot decide whether an exercise is appropriate for an injury or health condition.
How tracking recovers
If camera coverage drops, stop and reposition rather than trying to correct the setup while holding the exercise. A set without sufficient visibility may be recorded without a movement assessment.
